Brick surfaces can be cleaned with pressure washers. A brick-cleaning solution can be added to the pressure washer. You can also use water to thoroughly clean the brick after you have applied the cleaning solution in Step 4.
The brick can be damaged if it is subject to too much pressure. To avoid damaging bricks, keep pressure at 3,000 pounds per square inch.
Additional Tips for Cleaning Brick Exteriors
Mold, mildew and moss can rapidly form on bricks if a particular side of your house doesn’t get enough sunlight.
A sponge will clean brick surfaces easily; for more difficult areas like between bricks, a nylon-bristle scrub brush is recommended.
Avoid using a wire brush as it can leave metal bits behind that can rust and stain bricks.
If brick is damaged or loose, don’t use the high pressure setting of your pressure washers. For pressure washing brick, the ideal pressure is approximately 3,000 PSI.
